Elthion - campaign 1

All we have to do is dream

Upon the first night of camping, three of the party members fall into a deep dream.
They find themselves in a beautiful meadow with a willow tree and a babbling brook.
Mr. Peepholes, who has made a guest appearance, frantically climbs a tree and calls for the others to join him. Once they are in the tree, a fire creeps over the mountains and into the valley, and consumes everything, except the tree in which the four have climbed.
After a few hours, the fires die away.
Mr. Peepholes climbs down, puts a stick in the ground and takes some measurements, then heads off in a direction. After a day’s journey camp is made for the night. During the night, a rising cloud of dust seems to be trailing down a distant mountain.
The next morning the cloud of dust seems to be finally getting close to the camp. Mr. Peepholes creates a huge feast out of no where, and forces the others to sit, and wait. When the cloud of dust arrives, there is no one to be seen, until Mr. Peepholes snaps his large ape fingers and suddenly a host of men and a King appear.
The King and Mr. Peepholes have a silent conversation while everyone eats. And then the King and his mean left, and with a snap of his fingers again, they vanish from view, except for the cloud of dust.
After finishing the meal, Mr. Peepholes continues on, perpendicular to the direction of the King and his men.
After a few hours of walking, Mr. Peepholes stops, and begins to speak to the others. He tells them that they are in a dream, and in order to escape they must journey to a large tower in a lower valley, and discover how they became trapped in the dream, and how to escape back to the waking world.

Journeying through the forest revealed much death, but strange magic that lay dormant in the midst of the death that was flowing along the river.
After taking to the skies, the party arrived at Eva’s temple, only to find the spring’s gurgling froth of muck. Inside Eva’s temple lay two seemingly dead elves, and an alter with a glass bell jar and a very ugly looking heart.
After some time of pondering over the inscriptions on the alter, the party decided to head back to find Grelchug. He was found being attacked by goblins, which were quickly defeated by the party. After explaining to Grelchug the fate of Eva’s Temple, he agreed to go back and perform the sacrifice to save the world. When he arrived at the temple, he touched the elves and they awoke. They then began the rituals and placed Grelchug’s heart in the bell jar. Grelchug was turned into a monument to his purity and sacrifice.

And the return journey began, heading towards the Old Lake Forest.

Dream Flashback

Flashing back to their younger days, some members of the current party recall an adventure they had a few months back in an ancient underground network of halls and rooms.
Ellie, rogue, discovered the ancient labyrinth by falling through a spiked pit trap.
Upon burning down the door that led out of the pit, they discovered two hallways, and ventured to the right and into a large, dark room. The cleric got off a lucky random crossbow shot into the darkness which struck and killed a giant spider that had been tending her young. The young spiders than began to attack those that had killed their mother. After a short time all the spiders had been killed as well.

Setting Out - Bad Water
The Water supply is poisoned!

Journeying forth out of Berryshire Town, into the Berryshire Plains.
After some time, strange noises are heard, followed by train tracks appearing and then a small clockwork train being ridden by a gnome, and holding several large bags, passes by. After a bit longer the players realize that there is a blood trail along the road that was not there before the Train Man had passed.
After setting up camp for the night, the following of the blood continued, and continued off the road and towards the Taulave Forest.
The next morning there was a sickening odor coming from the water, which was also discolored. A makeshift damn was created to slow the spread of the water through the plains and in the direction of the Old Lake Forest to where the Old Lake Elves lived. It was decided to journey into the forest to discover the source of this contamination.
The forest was silent, animals of all sizes were found dead near the water.
After a few hours the sound of a breaking tree rang through the forest followed by a deep slow voice apologizing to the tree for breaking it.

Nic’s character (fighter) was introduced to Brian’s character (monk) at the Mayheart Sanctuary by the Librarian.
The two journey back to Berryshire Town, to the Ocean View Lodge and meet up with the monk’s companions.
Upon return the fighter is given a special sword that has been in safe keeping in the OVL Store under the guard of the lodge’s keeper, Matthew Clevell.
They then visited the local sparing ring where it was discovered that the sword had a devastating affect on a special sparing dummy made from Dragon Heart Stone, the hardest substance known.

Parties were held that night, the monk was drunk, the Ranger (Woody) enjoyed some alternative pleasures, while the rest of the party got to know each other while enjoying the music of Jerico Twist and the Hurricanes.

A young man traveling from distant lands stops for a time in Berryshire Town, and stays at the Ocean View Lodge. After an enjoyable evening he turns in for the night. When we wakes the next morning, an interesting medallion has been placed across his armor. The medallion is gold, with a green emerald on a disk that runs around an etching of two willow trees framing a slain dragon, two slain men and a third man standing tall above the others.
He is sent to the library in the Mayheart Sanctuary and taken deep into the dungeons of the library and shown a map of the world. He is directed to an island of four nations. The map has a circle on each nation, one of which is already filled in with a similar design as the etching on the medallion. The librarian instructs him to place his medallion in the corresponding nation’s circle, and magic happens! An imprint of the etching is left on the map.
The librarian instructs him to join up with a group of adventurers and set off to find the other two medallions and return them with their owners to the Library.
